Kennel Technician

Erin

I currently work part-time as Kennel Technician at Acres North. I was born and raised in Lubbock, and got into veterinary medicine because being a part of animal health and welfare has been a lifelong dream of mine. In high school, I took part in a work program that introduced me to veterinary medicine, which caused me to study animal sciences with a pre-vet minor at Texas Tech University. I aspire to complete my degree and become a veterinary technician.

I am also interested in wildlife rehabilitation, and hope to get more experience and education about wildlife. My father is retired from the Lubbock Police Department and my mother works for LISD. I also have 4 siblings: Shawn and Danielle have graduated from college and are starting families of their own, and Tyler and Kennedy, who are both attending college in Stephenville.

I currently have 2 dogs and 6 cats: Madeline is a 2 year old black lab who is an extremely energetic pup that loves to play and swim, Pillow is a 4 year old pit bull who had a sibling named Blanket and is a laid back pup whose favorite past time is sleeping, Aurora is a 5 year old cat who is the sweetest kitty ever and likes to enjoy a lovely stroll with the dogs, (Pandora’s) Box is a 2 year old cat and son of Aurora and his late mother Pandora, Opie Dean is a 14 year old cat who enjoys sleeping and eating and is my first cat whom I got for Christmas when I was 10, and Goliath who is an unknown aged cat that was the friendly neighborhood “stray” who we have now welcomed into our home.

I hope to give back to my community through education about pets and encourage adoption through Lubbock Animal Services so that they all may find a forever home.
